Message from the Principal

In light of the media and press surrounding our school, Hawaiian Mission Academy, I want to thank you for your continued support and prayers. We remain dedicated to our mission of providing a quality Adventist Christian education in a safe environment for our students.

With the recent events unfolding in the courtroom involving Bryan Lindberg, a former math teacher at HMA, we remain vigilant about our values and priorities that have sustained our campus for more than 100 years.

Bryan Lindberg is a former Hawaiian Mission Academy teacher. His contract ended in 2009. After his employment ended, the school was made aware of allegations of possible criminal behavior involving a student that may have occurred while he was employed by the school. Upon learning of the allegations, the school promptly reported the matter to both the Honolulu Police Department and Child Welfare Services. The school has had no involvement in the investigations since 2009.

We are continuing to provide counseling service to students and staff, and will assess any future needs as they arise. We thank you for being a positive supporter of HMA and ask for your prayers as we allow Christ to guide our students, faculty and administration.

May God continue to bless and keep us in his care.

Hugh P. Winn

Principal
